Toonstruck 2 aufregende Neuigkeiten!

Vielleicht kennen Sie Toonstruck. Es war ein Abenteuer-Spiel im Stile von "The Curse of Monkey Island", "Discworld 2 ", usw. Es spielte Christopher Lloyd als real-life Zeichen in der Cartoon-Welt. Ursprьnglich sollte es eine Fortsetzung, aber in Wirklichkeit war es nie, weil der kommerzielle Misserfolg des ersten Teils verцffentlicht.

Keith Arem, Musikdirektor des Spiels, die jetzt besitzt die Rechte an ihn, plant nun die Vollversion des Spiels, die auch Toonstruck 2 wьrde zu verцffentlichen. Aber er braucht "enorme Fan-Unterstьtzung", um seine Freilassung zu rechtfertigen. So gibt es eine Petition fьr Toonstruck 2, die schon den Punkt von 3000 Unterschriften erreicht hat.

Thanks for your support and dedication. We sincerely appreciate your devotion to our project, and we hope to do you proud. It may be some time before you start to hear official announcements, but we are hoping your support helps raise awareness and confidence for an updated re-release of Toonstruck.
As you are aware, much of the game was never released due to time and budget constraints. We are evaluating the cost and time to incorporate these assets into the initial re-release. In the coming months, I will do my best to get you behind the scenes peeks into the development process.

Vielen Dank für den Beitrag. Ich verfolge das Projekt schon seit einiger Zeit.

Allerdings würde mich interessieren, wieviele Unterschriften überhaupt nötig sind, damit das Projekt dann auch ins Rollen kommt? Gibt es hierzu irgendeine konkrete Hausnummer?

Auch muss man trotz der schönen Neuigkeiten natürlich berücksichtigen, dass die Entwicklungg des zweiten Teils noch einiges an Zeit und USD an Risiko-Kapital benötigen wird. Hier bin ich mal gespannt, wie hoch die angekündigte Kalkulation der Kosten letztendlich ausfallen wird. Ich gehe aktuell, obwohl ich das vorhandene Material nicht bewerten kann, von Minimum 450.000 USD aus, die man aufwenden müsste, um das Projekt realisieren zu können. Der Vertrieb ist hier noch gar nicht eingerechnet. Da stellt sich mir natürlich die Frage, wie das finanziert werden soll? Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die Fanbasis das Schultern könnte. Es wäre hier zu empfehlen, parallel den Kontakt zur Adventure Branche zu suchen und ggf. einen Publisher zu suchen, der das Projekt mitfinanziert. Diesen Betrag könnten die locker bezahlen und ggf. auch noch bilanziell abschreiben, wenn der Titel wider erwarten ein Flop werden sollte...

Warten wir mal ab, was die nächsten Monate noch so kommen wird.

Die Petition gibts auch schon recht lange, seit dem 3. August (http://www.adventurecorner.de/news/3412 ... oonstruck2). Vom Ziel der 50.000 Unterschriften ist man mit aktuell rund 3.300 auch noch recht weit weg. Da hilft nur Werbung machen für die Petition, selbst unterschreiben und Daumen drücken.

A couple of updates from the Facebook wall:

'We're currently working on an enhanced re-release of TS1, but we may add some of the TS2 content if we can afford to do it. We'll likely re-build our fanbase, and then move onto TS2 next.

More to come!'

hab heut schon wo anders von der petition gelesen und glatt mal mitgemacht, auch wenn ich toonstruck noch nie gespielt hab, schaut aber witzig aus. muss ich mir mal besorgen! =D

And some more news from Trevor Greer who's involved in the project:

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, I have good news for those of you who are looking forward to the re-enhanced version of Toonstruck.
My father and Keith both worked at Virgin (Interactive?) and they are overseeing the project. As well as this, I play a part of this project.
The re-enhanced version is beginning to gain momentum and we are in the process of gathering all the old data from the original source code.
We hope to have stuff for Comicon this July, so check out the PCB Productions booth at the convention!

Answers to some questions:

1. I believe our current goal lies with a handheld version of the game. But, depending on its success, repackaging it back for PC and Mac isn't too far off.

2. What I mean by "Re-enhanced" is that we are taking all the old backgrounds and sound files and upping their resolution to match the ratio of iPad, iPhone etc.

3. We don't have any current plans to send it off for a windows platform at the moment.

4. While it may be going for Apple products,I'm not sure if we will have it for Android. Time will tell.

5. Once I find out our booth number for Comicon, I will be sure to let you guys know so you can come on by! I will probably be there helping out all (5?) days of the Convention at the booth.
